God Will Fight for You When You Stay Faithful

There are battles you cannot win by arguing harder, defending yourself longer, or trying to make everybody understand you. Daniel faced people who were determined to bring him down, yet he did not spend his time pleading his case. He stayed faithful to God, and God worked on his behalf.

Does God fight your battles when people come against you?

Yes, God can fight your battles when you remain faithful and trust Him instead of trying to fight everything yourself. Daniel had people looking for a reason to accuse him, but they could not find fault in the way he handled his responsibilities.

Daniel 6:5 says, “We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.”

Think about that. They searched for something they could use against Daniel, and the only thing they could find was his commitment to God. He was not out there creating trouble. He was being faithful, praying to his God, and minding his business.

Sometimes people will come against you because of what God has done in your life. Daniel had been promoted, and the people around him became jealous. But Daniel did not give himself that promotion. He kept being Daniel and kept being faithful to God.

You do not have to fight everybody who has a problem with you. You need to know who is on your side.

What should you do when people are trying to bring you down?

Keep doing what is right before God and do not allow opposition to pull you out of your faithfulness. Daniel knew the decree had been signed, yet he continued doing what he had always done.

Daniel 6:11 says, “Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.”

They found him praying because they knew he was a praying man. They knew his pattern. They knew that around that time Daniel would be before God.

That tells me something. When trouble comes, do not let trouble change your devotion to God. Daniel did not let the king stop him. He did not let jealousy stop him. He did not let the threat of the lions' den stop him.

Will God find you faithful? Will He find you still praying when pressure comes? Daniel stayed consistent even when obedience became costly.

How do you let God fight instead of fighting for yourself?

You let God fight by holding your peace, staying faithful, and trusting Him to work on your behalf. I said in the message, you do not have to plead your case before everybody who comes against you.

Some of us know how we used to respond. In the world, you might have fought back. You might have cussed somebody out. You might have turned the whole job out because somebody came against you.

But when God has changed you, you do not have to respond the way you used to respond. You can hold your peace. You can sit back and watch God work on your behalf.

I gave the picture of getting ready to step into the ring, wrapping your hands and putting on the gloves, and God saying, “You sit this one out. I got this.” That is what I want you to understand. You have somebody who will fight for you.

Daniel could not get himself out of that lions' den. The king could not reverse the decree. But Daniel had already gone before the God who could do something about his situation.

Can God turn a battle around when it looks impossible?

Yes, God can turn around a battle that looks finished and bring you out of a situation you cannot fix yourself. The people who accused Daniel expected the lions' den to be the end of him, but they did not see God working on his behalf.

Daniel 6:23 says, “So Daniel was taken up out of the den and no manner of hurt was found upon him because he believed in his God.”

No manner of hurt was found on Daniel. Why? Because he believed in his God. He did not doubt.

The people who came against him thought they had him. That is why the title of the message was, “You thought you had me.” They thought Daniel was finished, but God had the final move.

The tables turned. Daniel came out of the lions' den, and the king made a decree declaring the greatness of Daniel's God. Daniel was still in captivity, but even there God was moving on his behalf and working things out.

So when opposition comes, do not think you have to handle every battle yourself. Stay faithful. Keep praying. Keep believing. Hold your peace and watch God work, because God is able to bring you out.
