The Eagle Is Not Afraid of the Storm

I could have given you a whole lot more about this bird, but I want to end on the one that I believe some of you need most this week.

What does an eagle do when a storm comes?

It does not leave.

The eagle is one who is not afraid of the storms the enemy will bring to him — or to you. Say it with me: the eagle is not afraid of the storm. The eagle is not afraid of the attacks that come against him.

Every other bird in the area is looking for cover. The eagle is looking at the wind.

What am I supposed to do when the enemy attacks?

Use the attack.

I hear people say, hey, the devil is attacking me. No, no, no. Jesus has taught you that when the devil attacks, you use his attack.

Understand what is happening in that moment. He thinks he has got you. He thinks the pressure means he is winning. What he is actually doing is putting wind under your wings.

So keep flapping them wings. The thing that was sent to knock you down is the thing that lifts you — but only if you stay in it long enough to set your wings.

What do I have to fight back with?

Nine things you may never have counted.

You have got to know that you can use the nine gifts of the Spirit and use them as an attack. They are not decorations for a good service. They are weapons.

So when he comes at you and thinks he has got you cornered, you are not standing there empty. You have sight he cannot see through and weapons he did not account for.

Here is what I want to leave with you. Stop measuring your week by whether the storm showed up. It is going to show up. Measure it by whether you got any height out of it.

Set your wings.
